Hi guys,

After graduating high school in July 2016, I decided to take a gap year. Less than a week after I got my diploma, I flew to New York City. I moved across the Atlantic Ocean to live on my own for four months in one of the most exciting cities in the world. Then, I created My Blue Striped Life to share my life with friends and family in The Netherlands. Please check out the New York City-category if you want to know more about my time abroad.

When I returned to The Netherlands last November, I moved back in with my parents, which was harder than I thought it would be. So, I am now living on my own again; I have my own studio apartment, in a new city. Since I’ve been back, I have applied to college, redone my apartment and started working as a waitress. Now that things have settled down, I’m going to start blogging again, because honestly I have missed it.

I never thought of myself as a writer, but it turned out I really do love writing. I also love taking photos and I enjoy finding the right pictures to accompany my posts. I am still figuring things out, but the road is more important than the destination.

I am excited to see where life takes me and I’m taking you with me on my journey!
